How do I know I’m on track with my retirement savings?

It is important to have a goal when you are saving for retirement. Studies show that you need 17 times your final pre-tax salary in order to retire comfortably at the age of 65. After 10 years of working you need to have saved twice your annual salary to meet that target, after 20 years five times your annual salary and after 30 years ten times your annual salary. Knowing where you are in relation to these figures can help you reach that goal.
