Orbis: Taming turbulence

Turbulence. It’s a word that can strike fear into the heart of even the most seasoned air traveller and even a little of it has been known to put people off flying completely. For pilots, however, it is just another part of the job. It is something to be mitigated and managed. They spend time plotting the right route and train hard to ensure they react appropriately should they run into bad weather, but turbulence isn’t something that stops them from reaching their destination. Market volatility, when viewed through a long-term investor’s perspective, can be similar. It is something to be mitigated, where possible, but not something to be feared, as Neha Aggarwal, a member of Orbis’ European investment team discusses in this 5-minute video.
